All works by the Wanted Artist Group are unusual in that they are each fully collaborative works between three artists. Sometimes two guest artists joined into the process. All works of art often underwent drastic changes as they changed hands. The only rule was that every artist must contribute to the work, and beyond that, there were no rules.

Hey! It's
Aum!
oil, photos, paper and
concrete on wood
79cm x 89cm

This, the largest of the Aum works, is a painterly remake of a poster featuring a police sketch of Hirata on which is written the catch phrase "Aah! Aum da!", or to put it another way, "Oh my God! It's Aum!" We found this catch phrase quite humorous. This work also highlights some photos of other genres of police propaganda posters, particularly ones featuring the classic cartoon of a terrorist which is always portrayed as wearing a helmet, goggles, and a white handkerchief over is nose and mouth. This cartoon character is always referred to as "this type of person". Again, we find this to be kind of a simplistic idea, and pretty humorous. "This type of person" has also been recreated on a smaller scale to the right of Hirata's portrait. One of the funnier posters featuring the terrorist theme shows a map of Japan completely filled with penguins, with the occasional penguins dressed as "this type of person" scattered throughout the bunch.
